Mitochondria, free radicals and aging

mitcondrias radicales libres envejecimientoThe anatomical and functional unit cell of all living things depend for their normal operation of energy production, which used to be allowed to perform work and generate heat. In the cell power generation comes from the activity of mitochondria, cellular organelle that originated from a bacterium, that in order to avoid their extinction was adapted into a new integrated structure evolved. This process is known as endosimbiosis.

In the cell, the mitochondria took on the role of power generation through the production of ATP, through the process of cellular respiration. The ATP is a high-energy molecule that is involved in all energy transactions that take place in the body. While oxygen is consumed for energy, releasing free radicals that can damage DNA, causing mutations in the chain of genetic material. The cell has an impressive antioxidant aircraft, mostly derived from plants and fruits to neutralize free radicals. Hence the importance of the nutritional habits in the preservation of mitochondrial integrity and cell life.
Over time, mitochondria accumulate defects involving a decrease in the oxidative process of breathing, leading to reduced production of ATP, and therefore less power generation, typical features of cellular aging leads to apoptosis or cell death.

Proper nutrition areas allows the hair follicle metabolism is balanced and active cell reproduction. Then the hair will grow healthily and regularly. This important function is provided by the dermal papilla which feeds the inside of the follicular matrix and a plexus of fine blood vessels around the rest of the parties.
