
The European Union will extend the assessment carried out on hair dyes to study their toxic effects and its relationship with skin allergies.
The decision was based on a report of the Scientific Committee on Consumer Products (CSPC) that the potential risk to consider very thoroughly advised the preparation of dyes. It was further noted the increasing use of dyes in the last ten years an increasingly early age, which can cause health problems.
The committee evaluated 46 components of the hair dyeing and concluded that many of them can sensitize the skin. The monitoring of the adverse effects of these products began in 2003. He had noticed a relationship between prolonged use and bladder cancer.
